21. Hostel- A new experience

What comes in your mind when you hear the word “hostel”? Let me tell you what was my perception. So, I always thought that hostel means a strict warden, who always scares the children with her eyes. Of course the bad food, it was also there in my mind that hostels provide very low quality and bad food.

Let me tell you guys that today, I shifted in a hostel and had a dinner also. The thing is, there is nothing like bad food or low quality food because the food is really good. The warden is not so strict. Yes, there is some time restrictions but I am not a party person so I don’t have any issues with the timing. The rooms are cleaned including the bathrooms. Luckily I got a very cool roommate too. What else anybody can ask for in a hostel?

What I have experienced in my life is, if people around you are supportive and good then you can live happily anywhere. I just got a surprise entry in my room, she was my senior batch mate Anjana PV. I don’t know how she came to know that I am here in this hostel but I really liked that she came to assure me that she is there to help me out whenever it is needed. She came and talked to me and gave me some insights of how she dealt with the issues which I am having right now in my studies which was really cool. She just ignited a fire inside me to take my work seriously. I hope this positive vibe will last long inside me and will keep me motivated to do my work interestingly.

The vibe of the hostel is quite good. I am happy that my decision of shifting to this hostel was right. The best part is, it is in walking distance from my college. So, no more wastage of money on auto rickshaw, no more wastage of time, no more crying on foods.

I understand that many people don’t have a good experience in hostel. So, this was just for a change that not all hostels are bad. It is also about finding your way to survive because hostel life teaches you so many ‘jugad’.
